Cross-server nickname sync

One name across every server.

In a network, the same person often shows up under three different names. CloudMod mirrors nicknames from your main server to every connected server, so staff, roleplay characters and clan tags stay recognisable wherever a member posts.

The same member, three different names

Roleplay characters, clan tags and staff prefixes only work if they are consistent. Without sync, a member renames themselves on one server and nobody on the others can tell who they are — and your moderators lose the thread across servers.

Set it once

Change a nickname on the hub server and CloudMod applies it to every connected server automatically.

Per-server opt-out

Some servers want their own naming. Nickname sync can be turned off per sub-server without touching role sync.

Built for roleplay and clans

Character names, clan tags and staff prefixes stay identical wherever the member shows up.

Logged like everything else

Every nickname change lands in the audit log, so you can see what changed and when.

Frequently asked questions

Can Discord nicknames be synced across servers?

Not by Discord itself — nicknames are per server. CloudMod adds that by mirroring the nickname from your main server to every connected one.

Can a single server keep its own names?

Yes. Nickname sync has a per-sub-server opt-out, so you can exclude any server.

Does it work for server owners?

Discord does not allow bots to rename a server owner — that is a platform limit, not a CloudMod one. Everyone else syncs normally.

Is nickname sync free?

Yes, it is part of the core sync feature set on the free plan.
