Someone unlocks a channel for a weekend tournament, the weekend ends, and nobody remembers who got what. Months later the role is still there, still granting access. A deadline you set once is more reliable than a calendar reminder nobody reads.

Give the role for 90m, 12h, 7d or 2w — CloudMod removes it exactly when the time is up.
Survives restarts
The deadline lives in the database, not in memory. After downtime, anything that came due is caught up rather than lost.
Refuses what it can’t undo
A role above the bot would stick forever after expiry, so CloudMod declines it up front instead of failing silently later.

What is a temporary role?
A Discord role that is removed automatically after a set time — useful for events, trials and limited access.
What happens if the bot is offline when it expires?
Nothing is lost. The deadline is stored, and anything that came due while the bot was down is caught up on the next start.
How precise is the timing?
Expiry is checked once a minute, so a role can outlive its deadline by up to a minute.
