Utility · Timed Roles

Unlock a role for an event and forget about it.

Event roles are easy to hand out and easy to forget. CloudMod gives the role, remembers the deadline and removes it on its own — so last summer’s event role isn’t still sitting on half your members.

The role you forgot to take back

Someone unlocks a channel for a weekend tournament, the weekend ends, and nobody remembers who got what. Months later the role is still there, still granting access. A deadline you set once is more reliable than a calendar reminder nobody reads.

Set it and forget it

Give the role for 90m, 12h, 7d or 2w — CloudMod removes it exactly when the time is up.

Survives restarts

The deadline lives in the database, not in memory. After downtime, anything that came due is caught up rather than lost.

Refuses what it can’t undo

A role above the bot would stick forever after expiry, so CloudMod declines it up front instead of failing silently later.

See what’s running

/temprole list shows every pending expiry with its deadline — and the dashboard keeps the overview.

Give a temporary role in three steps

  1. 01

    Enable Timed Roles

Invite the bot and switch on the plugin.

  2. 02

    Run /temprole add

Pick the member, the role and how long it should last.

  3. 03

    Forget about it

The role comes off on its own — no calendar entry needed.

Frequently asked questions

What is a temporary role?

A Discord role that is removed automatically after a set time — useful for events, trials and limited access.

What happens if the bot is offline when it expires?

Nothing is lost. The deadline is stored, and anything that came due while the bot was down is caught up on the next start.

How precise is the timing?

Expiry is checked once a minute, so a role can outlive its deadline by up to a minute.

Is it free?

Yes — the free plan covers three timed roles at a time, Premium covers 25.
