An open server is a soft target
If everyone who joins can post in every channel straight away, a raid needs nothing more than an invite link. A verification step puts one deliberate action between joining and talking — easy for a person, and a wall for accounts that join only to spam.
Unverified role on join
Every new member gets a role you choose. Deny it the rest of the server, and the verify channel is all they can see.
One-click verify button
Clicking grants your verified role and removes the unverified one. The button keeps working across bot restarts.

Frequently asked questions
How does verification with CloudMod work?
New members get an unverified role that can only see your verify channel. Clicking the Verify button grants the verified role and removes the unverified one.
Can new members be asked to introduce themselves first?
Yes — switch on the optional quest mode. The button then only accepts the rules and unlocks a quest channel; the verified role follows with the first introduction message. CloudMod checks that a message was written, not what it says. It is free and off by default.
Does it keep spam accounts out?
Accounts that join only to spam find nothing to post in until they click. For layered defense, pair it with the account-age filter, raid alerts and a honeypot channel.
Are bots I invite affected?
No — bots are skipped and never get the unverified role.
Can I hold back brand-new accounts?
Yes — add the account-age filter: accounts younger than your threshold get a review role, a timeout, a kick or a ban on join. It can also gate your sub-servers.
Can I welcome new members too?
Yes — the Welcome plugin posts welcome messages and image banners. It is a separate plugin, so you can run the gate with or without greetings.
Is the verification bot free?
Yes, CloudMod has a free plan — and the Verification Gate doesn’t take one of its plugin slots.
